Dr. John J. Dauria is a University of Pennsylvania, Harvard University (Brigham & Women’s Hospital), and University of Massachusetts medically-trained clinician with extensive clinical practice experience in Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, and Interventional Pain Management. He earned his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College (1974) and his M.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School (1980). Dr. Dauria is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology (1988) with subspecialty certification in Interventional Pain Management (2029), a Fellow of the World Institute of Pain’s Interventional Pain Practice (2012), and certified by the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians (2010) and the American Board of Pain Medicine (2001).
From 1980-1999, Dr. Dauria served as Anesthesiologist-in-Chief within the VA acute care hospital system providing 'hands on' anesthesiology care to surgical patients. Since 1999, Dr. Dauria has maintained an active clinical practice in Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain Management, specializing in fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided intraspinal and extraspinal regional anesthetic techniques for both acute and chronic pain management. His expertise includes radiofrequency ablation, cryoanalgesia, spinal cord stimulation (SCS) trials, implantable drug delivery system (IDDS) trials, minimally invasive lumbar decompression (MILD), disc biacuplasty, and intradiscal electrothermal annuloplasty (IDETA) cases, along with additional workshop certification in sacroiliac joint fusion.
Dr. Dauria’s advanced training in clinical pharmacology and biophysics is in evidence as first author in a sentinel publication on fatal postoperative wound care, which highlights his commitment to excellence in understanding & disseminating untoward outcomes in acute care & clinical pharmacology practice.
